               PROFESSIONAL POLICIES

SESSIONS: Therapy sessions run for 45-50 minutes, and generally take place on a weekly basis. Other arrangements can be made in terms of session length and frequency of meeting depending on your individual needs. My fee is $150 for an individual session and $160 for couples.

PAYMENT FOR SERVICE: Payment is due at the time services are rendered (unless we make other arrangements in advance). Please notify me if any problem arises during the course of your therapy regarding your ability to make timely payment.

CANCELLED/MISSED APPOINTMENTS: A scheduled appointment means that time is reserved only for you. If an appointment is missed or cancelled with less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice, you will be charged for the full fee. (In the case of Monday appointments, cancellation must occur forty-eight (48) hours in advance.)

PHONE CONTACT:I usually return calls within 24 hours. Weekends, due to other commitments, my availability to return calls is limited. I do not charge for phone consultations less than 5 minutes. For longer calls I may charge for the entire length of the phone session according to my standard fee.

VACATION COVERAGE: Should I be out of town during any time when we usually schedule an appointment, I will try to give you as much notice as possible, and should you desire, arrange for you to see someone else while I am away.

INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT:If you carry insurance please remember that professional services are rendered and charged to you and not to the insurance company. I will complete any insurance forms you bring or provide you with receipts of services so you can submit them to your insurance company for reimbursement.

CONFIDENTIALITY:All information disclosed within sessions is strictly confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission. However, disclosure may be required by law under the following circumstances:
• When there is reasonable suspicion of abuse to a child, dependent or elder adult.
• When the client communicates a serious threat of bodily injury to others.
• When the therapist has a reasonable belief that the client may be a danger to themselves, others or property of others.
• When disclosure is otherwise required by law.
Therapy is designed to offer as private and protected a psychological space as possible. It is important to discuss any concerns about this space you may have with me. I engage in regular professional consultation. In such instances neither your name nor any identifying information about you is revealed.
